SPARK THE FLAME! – Ein adaptives Begegnungsformat,
das alle Anwesenden als Akteur*innen vereint

Ja, das wollen wir. Ein einfaches Vernetzungsformat, das Raum für Koexistenz von künstlerischer Praxis und Carearbeit bildet. Deshalb entfachen wir ein wärmendes Feuer und laden dich ein, dabei zu sein. Bringe auch Kinder und weitere Menschen mit. In dieser Gemeinschaft kreieren wir sichtbare Präsenz und Verbindungen. Ein Moment für das Wesentliche, für Teilhabe oder auch für neue Funken. Was bewegt dich?

SPARK THE FLAME! versteht sich als Impulsgeber: Eine Flamme wird entzündet, im wörtlichen wie im übertragenen Sinn. Das Feuer steht für wärmende Gemeinschaft, Aufmerksamkeit und Fürsorge. Es schafft einen geschützten und zugleich offenen Raum, in dem Resonanz auf Augenhöhe entstehen kann.
Ziel ist es, Kontexte zu schaffen, in denen sich künstlerische Praxis und Care-Arbeit begegnen, vernetzen und gegenseitig stärken. Das Format fördert Solidarität, Austausch und neue Perspektiven auf die Verbindung von Kunst und Care.
Alle Anwesenden werden zu aktiven Mitwirkenden. Teilnehmende und Veranstaltende werden gleichermassen als Akteur*innen des Geschehens verstanden. Im Anschluss können alle ihre Partizipation ausdrücklich als künstlerische Teilnahme verbuchen. Das Zusammensein selbst wird dadurch zur kollektiven künstlerischen Performance.
Das Format ist adaptiv. Das bedeutet, dass alle Interessierten ein SPARK THE FLAME! hosten können – im kleinen Rahmen (z.B. im Ateliergarten) ebenso wie in Kooperation mit einer kulturellen Institution oder einem Festival (u.a. Schweizer Theatertreffen Zug, Biennale Wiesbaden, Ausstellungsraum Klingental Basel). Alle Bandbreiten sind möglich (siehe unten: Umsetzung).
Das Format ist bewusst einfach und flexibel gehalten. Zugleich ist es zentral, dass der organisatorische Aufwand für die Hostpersonen ressourcenmässig tragbar bleibt. Die Einfachheit ist Teil des Konzepts.
Zentrale Elemente sind:
•           gemeinsames Entzünden eines Feuers (oder ein symbolischer Mittelpunkt)
•           offene Gesprächsrunden und moderierter Austausch
•           optionale künstlerische Interventionen oder Mini-Performances
•           gemeinsames Stockbrot oder das Teilen von Mitgebrachtem
•           Raum für Kulturschaffende und Interessierte aller Generationen (Kinder, Angehörige, Freund*innen sowie Nachbar*innen)
SPARK THE FLAME! ist kein starres Veranstaltungsformat, sondern eine Einladung zur Mitgestaltung. Jede Ausgabe kann individuell an den jeweiligen Ort und die beteiligten Personen angepasst werden.
Das Format basiert auf gegenseitiger Offenheit, niederschwellige Präsenz und respektvoller Teilhabe. Es schafft Sichtbarkeit für Care-Verantwortung im Kunst- und Kulturbereich und setzt sich für gerechtere, fürsorglichere Arbeits- und Lebensbedingungen ein.
Im Mittelpunkt stehen Dialog, kollektive Unterstützung und gemeinsames Dasein.
SPARK THE FLAME! kann von Einzelpersonen, Initiativen oder Institutionen initiiert und durchgeführt werden. Als Ready-to-use-Setting stellt es eine klare und zugleich offene Struktur zur Verfügung, die eigenständig adaptiert werden kann.
art+care unterstützt bei Bedarf in der Vernetzung, Kommunikation und im Austausch von Erfahrungen (contact@artandcare.org). So entsteht eine wachsende Gemeinschaft, die lokal verankert und zugleich überregional verbunden ist. Nicht die Reichweite ist ausschlaggebend, sondern das gemeinsame Erlebnis der Menschen vor Ort – unabhängig von der Anzahl der Teilnehmenden. Ob im kleinen Kreis oder im institutionellen Rahmen: Entscheidend ist die Qualität der Begegnung.
SPARK THE FLAME! lädt dazu ein, zusammenzukommen, zuzuhören, zu teilen – und gemeinsam neue Funken für eine care-sensible Kunst- und Kulturlandschaft zu schlagen. Für die Umsetzung braucht es lediglich Hosts, die eine Feuerstelle oder Feuerschale organisieren, einen geeigneten Ort definieren, ein Datum festlegen und ein Zeitfenster bestimmen. Alles Weitere entsteht aus der Situation, den Menschen und dem gemeinsamen Moment.

SPARK THE FLAME! – An adaptive meeting format that connects everyone present as participants

Yes, that's what we want. A simple networking format that creates space for the coexistence of artistic practice and care work. That's why we're lighting a warming fire and inviting you to join us. Bring children and other people with you. In this community we create visible presence and connections. A moment for the essentials, for participation or for new sparks. What makes you move?

SPARK THE FLAME! sees itself as a creative force: a flame is lit, both literally and symbolically. The fire represents a warm community, attention, and care. It creates a safe yet open space where people can connect on equal terms.
The aim is to create contexts in which artistic practice and care work meet, network, and mutually reinforce each other. The format promotes solidarity, exchange, and new perspectives on the connection between art and care.
All those present become active participants. Participants and organizers are equally understood as actors in the event. Afterwards, everyone can explicitly record their participation as artistic involvement. The gathering itself thus becomes a collective artistic performance.
The format is adaptive. This means that anyone interested can host a SPARK THE FLAME! event – on a small scale (e.g., in a studio garden) or in cooperation with a cultural institution or festival (including the Swiss Theater Meeting in Zug, the Wiesbaden Biennale, and the Klingental Exhibition Space in Basel). All scales are possible (see below: Implementation)
The format is deliberately kept simple and flexible. At the same time, it is essential that the organizational effort for the hosts remains manageable in terms of resources. Simplicity is part of the concept.
Key elements are:
•    Lighting a fire together (or a symbolic centerpiece)
•    Open discussions and moderated exchanges
•    Optional artistic interventions or mini-performances
•    Sharing bread baked on sticks or food brought along
•    Space for creative artists and interested parties of all generations (children, relatives, friends, and neighbors)
SPARK THE FLAME! is not a rigid event format, but rather an invitation to participate. Each edition can be individually adapted to the respective location and the people involved.
The format is based on mutual openness, low-threshold presence, and respectful participation. It creates visibility for care responsibilities in the arts and culture sector and advocates for fairer, more caring working and living conditions.
The focus is on dialogue, collective support, and shared experience.
SPARK THE FLAME! can be initiated and implemented by individuals, initiatives, or institutions. As a ready-to-use setting, it provides a clear yet open structure that can be adapted independently.
art+care provides support with networking, communication, and the exchange of experiences as needed. This creates a growing community that is locally anchored yet connected across regions. It is not the reach that is decisive, but the shared experience of the people on site—regardless of the number of participants. Whether in a small circle or in an institutional setting, the quality of the encounter is what matters.
SPARK THE FLAME! invites people to come together, listen, share—and jointly spark a care-sensitive art and cultural landscape. All that is needed for implementation are hosts who organize a fire pit or fire bowl, define a suitable location, set a date, and determine a time slot. Everything else arises from the situation, the people, and the shared moment.
