The myth of the self-sufficient artistic genius that is free from all social responsibilities is an outdated patriarchal idea.
We are a growing network of caregiving artists. We are developing a different understanding of artists that is defined by connection and solidarity: We think of creating artistic projects and helping to shape life together.
We are joining our forces to ensure that
creating art with care work can grow into a social vision
we feel supported and are supported in return
needs can be expressed in protected spaces
pressure can be released and our full strength can bloom
vulnerability as a basic condition of life is respected
children and other caretakers are welcome in our lives
we can take breaks to help our resources recuperate
more space will become accessible for caretakers and caregiver
our mindfulness expands past the human
together we can change role models and power structures
we renegotiate the definition of work together
